# For Traders and Borrowers

> Open a margin account, borrow up to 10x, then swap or farm with the borrowed funds under one health factor.

A **margin account** is your own Soroban smart contract. It holds your collateral and everything you borrow, swap into or farm. One health factor covers all of it.

## Your path

**1. Create the account**

Open **Margin** and click **Create your Margin Account**. See [Open a Margin Account](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/margin/open-account.md).

**2. Deposit and borrow**

In **Leverage your Assets**, deposit XLM, BLUSDC, AqUSDC or SoUSDC and borrow one asset (**Single Borrow**) or two (**Dual Borrow**) at 1x to 10x. See [Borrow](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/margin/borrow.md).

**3. Put the funds to work**

[Swap](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/trade/spot-swap.md) on Soroswap or Aquarius, or [Farm](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/farm/overview.md) on Blend, Soroswap and Aquarius, straight from the margin account.

**4. Watch your health factor**

Keep it comfortably above **1.10**. The Margin page's **Liquidation** card shows how far you are from the line in dollars. See [Health Factor](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/margin/health-factor.md).

**5. Unwind**

Exit Farm positions, [repay](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/margin/repay.md) your loans, then [transfer collateral](https://docs.vanna.finance/stellar/guides/margin/transfer-collateral.md) back to your wallet.

## Limits to know

* New borrows must keep the account's health factor above **1.10**, and the pool must have cash to lend. A pool can't be borrowed past **95%** utilization.
* Spot blocks a swap that would drop your health factor below **1.15**.
* BLUSDC, AqUSDC and SoUSDC are different tokens. Borrow the one your venue uses.

> [!WARNING]
>
> At or below a Health Factor of 1.1, a priced account with debt is a liquidation candidate. The current liquidation path transfers remaining collateral to the liquidator; it does not automatically close the SmartAccount.
